A huge thank you to everyone who participated in and supported our 2nd annual Farm to Glass Throwdown. What a night we had!
Berkshire Mountain Distillers’ spirits were combined with carrots, apples, chili peppers, tomatoes and nasturtium flowers from our farmers market to make the most delicious farm-to-glass cocktails.
After much tasting, the judges voted “Farmhouse Apple Fizz” by Kayla Zigmand of John Andrews Farmhouse Restaurant, “Roots and Fruits” by Jesse Hunter of The Dream Away Lodge and “The 21st Night of September” by Jesse Lee Egan Poirer of Public Eat + Drink their favorites and moved the three competitors on to Round Two.
The People’s Choice Winner was Jesse Hunter with his “Roots and Fruits,” a cocktail made with Ragged Mountain Rum, apple juice, carrot juice, orange ginger simple syrup, lime and his own bee balm bitters!

After much anticipation, Joe Scully, last year’s Throwdown Champ, revealed the mystery ingredient – a simple syrup he concocted with shiso, tarragon and mint from the Prairie Whale garden! The competitors had just two minutes to create a cocktail to wow the judges.
Jesse Lee Egan Poirer did just that, earning him the title of 2016 Farm to Glass Throwdown Champ!
Curious to try his cocktail? Check out his recipe below:
