In collaboration with Eddie and Kelley O’Toole and the super sweet folks over at the Unitarian Church, we are excited to hold a Farm-to-Table Food Drive at the market each and every week.
The idea is simple:
Food drives typically elicit lots of non-perishable donations (think mac & cheese, tuna fish, canned soup, white rice). We want to bring farm-fresh food to everyone’s table!
So… have too much broccoli in your bunch? Think the asparagus looks super fresh, but no one in your family likes it? Bring it on over to our donation table and at the end of each market day we will bring the donations to local shelters and food pantries.
Last season our shoppers and vendors donated nearly 2,000 POUNDS of FRESH FOOD. The food was distributed to several local organizations including Barton’s Crossing, Salvation Army, Elizabeth Freeman Center and Our Friends’ House.
